Sandblasting Is The First Step

The first step in the refinishing process is the sandblasting of the metal frame. Whether you have wrought iron or aluminum, all of the existing finish must Be removed prior to coating. Sandblasting removes all the rust and old paint And exposes a clean, bare metal surface.

Inspection is next

Following our sandblasting process, we inspect the furniture for any broken or cracked welds which may have been disguised by rust or an old worn finish. This can commonly occur, even with normal use, anywhere that two Pieces of metal are joined together. If we do happen to find any problems, we will contact you to discuss any necessary repairs and/or your options. The charge for welds is typically $15 per weld to a maximum of $75 per piece.

The Benefits of a Powder Coated Finish

Powder coating is a dry polyester powder that is electrostatically applied and then baked on at 400 degrees. This is the same type of finish that you see on all the new furniture available today. Chair Care has a wide variety of frame colors and textures to choose from.

Manufacturers use powder coating because it is much more durable and environmentally friendly than the old solvent based wet paint finishes they used to use. Powder coating doesnŐt chip easily and will not get that "chalky" feel over time. ItŐs the best restorative finish available and the most durable for outdoor furniture.
